I am not shy with my love of historic homes. The character, lay out and all around beauty is what I loved when I visited historic properties online and in person.

In Detroit, there was a beautiful bungalow styled home that I lived in that had a laundry chute.

This is an amazing feature that should be used in new homes as well and not just for seniors, persons with disabilities or large families.

Convenience is one of the main reasons to get a Laundry Chute.

Size and placement may be the only issue you can face with your design plans.

There are some structural issues that you want to ensure are resolved before committing to such a feature. Especially, if clothes get stuck while traveling from the laundry chute to the laundry room.

The laundry chute where I lived was on the second floor and it traveled to the basement.

Occasionally, maybe a sock or two got caught in the chute but I do not recall any major issues.

Regardless, of your home design, if you want to purchase a new property...ask if you can add a Laundry Chute.
